Our Story

My name is Jemma, and I have owned dogs my whole life. I come from a dog training family, and my passion for working with dogs started early. I got my first dog, a rescue mongrel, at the age of eight, and my second dog when I was eleven, a German Shepherd who I trained to a high standard and entered into obedience and agility competitions.

As an adult, I continued my career in dog training and have been running JJ’s VIP Pets for over 16 years. I genuinely love what I do, and there is nothing better than seeing dogs relaxed, happy, and enjoying themselves in a safe environment. I am a firm believer in understanding a dog’s body language, because when we understand what a dog is telling us, we can meet their needs properly and help them feel secure.

Home Based Care, With Space to Explore

We offer the full range of services dog owners need, including Dog Day Care, Doggie Day Care, Dog Boarding, dog training, walking, and grooming. Everything we do is based from our family home in Waltham Abbey, and we want every dog to feel that this is their second home.

Our dedicated dog area has direct access outside for play, with a secure two acre field surrounded by steel fencing for safety and peace of mind. We are also surrounded by fields and woodland, and we regularly take the dogs out for walks in the local area. We can easily access the Lea Valley too, which is a favourite for dogs who love a swim.

Safety, Licensing and Peace of Mind

Dog safety is always our priority. We are fully insured and fully licensed by the local authority, and we keep a calm, structured environment so every dog receives proper attention and care.

When dogs stay with us for Dog Boarding or Dog Day Care, they return home happy, settled, and usually ready for a well earned nap and cuddles on the sofa.

A Few Important Notes

For the comfort and safety of all dogs in our care, male dogs must be neutered after the age of one year. If your female dog is in season, please let us know in advance so we can manage walks safely and keep her on a lead.
