Jemma has been training dogs since the age of 11 and has worked professionally for over 16 years, continually developing her approach through courses, seminars and practical experience.

We use positive reinforcement, reward based methods, and non aversive training techniques. Training should be enjoyable for both you and your dog, and we focus on building clear communication, confidence, and trust.

Jemma often describes dog training as being like teaching English as a foreign language. When a dog is not doing what we want, it is usually because they do not understand what we are asking. Our job is to make it simple, consistent, and rewarding, so your dog can succeed.

Tailored One to One Training Sessions

Every dog is different, and every household is different, so our one to one training sessions are tailored to you and your dog’s specific needs. Training sessions usually take place in our large private field in Waltham Abbey, which is a calm and safe space for learning. Home visits can also be arranged where needed.

During training, we will help you understand your dog’s body language, improve timing and handling, and break behaviours down into manageable steps, so you feel confident continuing the work at home.

How Training Works

We begin with an in depth consultation to understand exactly what you are looking to achieve. We will talk through your dog’s history, routine, behaviour, and feeding patterns, as these details help us build the right training plan.

From there, we will recommend the number of sessions needed. Many owners benefit from weekly sessions, with practical techniques to work on in between. Progress can be fast or gradual depending on the dog, but you will always leave each session with clear steps, and the confidence to continue at home.
